Architecture Saturdays, a new initiative for the 12th Architecture Biennale, consists of a series of topical discussions chaired by past directors of the Biennale. The series will bring together some of the most exciting names in design and architecture and cover a wide range of the most important aspects relating to architecture today.

Running fortnightly from the 11th September, topics so far discussed include The Last Six Years of Architecture, led by Canadian architect Kurt Foster, which explored developments in the industry since Foster directed the 9th Biennale in 2004, and Architecture of the City: the Social and Environmental Impacts of Urban Design, a discussion chaired by Professor Richard Burdett, Director of the 10th Biennale, covering the architecture of cities in its various guises.

The final event in the series will be led by acclaimed Japanese architect Kazuyo Sejiima, who will address the theme of the 12th International Architecture Exhibition: People Meet in Architecture, and talk about her experiences as Director of this year's Biennale.
