Architecture Saturdays, a new initiative for the 12th Architecture Biennale, consists of a series of topical discussions chaired by past directors of the Biennale. The series will bring together some of the most exciting names in design and architecture and cover a wide range of the most important aspects relating to architecture today.

Running fortnightly from the 11th September, topics so far discussed include The Client and Her Architects, a discussion chaired by Deyan Sudjic, Director of London's Design Museum and Life after Metamorph: The Last Six Years of Architecture, led by Canadian architect Kurt Foster, which explored developments in the industry since Foster directed the 9th Biennale in 2004.

The next event, on 23 October, will by chaired by Professor Richard Burdett Director of the 10th Biennale. Speakers discussing the architecture of cities in its various guises around the topic: Architecture of the City: the Social and Environmental Impacts of Urban Design, include Guido Martinotti, Richard Sennet and Saskia Sassen.
