The New York Architecture and Design Film Festival
Robert Fiehn takes a look at the programme for the first film festival of it's kind in the US
The first of its kind, the New York Architecture and Design Film Festival 'should appeal not just to architects and others in the design field, but to design enthusiasts as well', according to the organisers.
Highlights from the programme include White Box (4 minutes, 2010, Makoto Yabuki), a short film illustrating the creative processes behind the quest for harmony between a home and its environment, Eye Over Prague (78 minutes, 2010, Olga Spátová), which tells the story of Jan Kaplický, one of the most consumate visionaries of modern architecture, and Left Behind (4 minutes, 2005, Monika Koeck), an emotional portrait of Liverpool's Tobacco Warehouse, considered the largest brick building in the world.
Screenings will take place at New York City's Tribeca Cinemas from 14-17 October.
