The importance of digital art in a digital age was finally given the distinction it deserves with Decode: Digital Design Sensations, on show at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, until April 2010. In collaboration with the contemporary digital arts agency onedotzero, the museum brought together the latest advances in digital and interactive design, with spectacular results.
Decode focused on three major themes: ‘Code’ looked at how computer code can be programmed to create constantly evolving works. ‘Interactivity’ looked at works that the viewer can influence and ‘Network’ depicted digital traces left behind by Facebook, blogs and mobile phone communications.
