Prepare for a delicious evening at the Phaidon New York store and join the James Beard Foundation Greens - a group of young, food-loving fans of the foundation - along with celebrated chefs from some of the best Italian restaurants in New York City who will give their take on classic dishes from The Silver Spoon cookbook, this Wednesday (18 May). The evening event celebrates The Silver Spoon cookbook - the bible of traditional Italian cooking.
Sample the dishes prepared by the stellar line-up of chefs including: Nick Anderer (Maialino), Mario Carbone and Rich Rorrisi (Torrisi Italian Specialties), Iacopo Falai (Felai), Jim Lahey (Co.) and Adam Shepard (Lunetta). The menu features: Piselli alla Pancetta, Scallop and Fermented Broccoli Rabe, Mussel and Pepper Toast, Pappa Al Pmodoro and Asparagi alla Parmigiana. An evening of delicious dishes and books - the perfect combination!
The Silver Spoon isn't the only Phaidon cookbook to impress the James Beard Foundation. René Redzepi's book NOMA: Time and Place in Nordic Cuisine recently won awards for 'Cooking from a professional point of view' and ' Best Photography' at the annual James Beard Foundation Awards.
