Interview

David Bailey revolutionised fashion and portrait photography in the 1960s with his spare, graphic aesthetic and irreverent approach.

Best known for his iconic photographs of artists, musicians and actors of the 1960s and 1970s, including Andy Warhol, the Rolling Stones and Catherine Deneuve, Bailey has gone on to publish work ranging from gritty London streetscapes to intimate photographs of his wife and family.

These iconic photographs are a selection from a new monograph: David Bailey: Look which delves into the photographer's archive to present his most famous portraiture alongside less familiar and previously unpublished works that span his entire career.

David Bailey is the subject of an exhibition at the Pangolin London gallery in Kings Place (until 16 October 2010), where, in addition to a body of new photographs, a collection of cast silver and bronze sculptures by Bailey will be on display.
