Perfect pasta ideas
A favourite fast food and something suitable for the most sophisticated tables
Following a two-year, £125 million face lift, the Four Seasons Hotel in Mayfair, London, officially opened the doors to its new flagship bar and restaurant today (31 January).
Named after the Italian word for the Amaranthus - the red flower which is evoked by scarlet touches to the dark wood and plush interior - Amaranto is a three-fold space, comprising a restaurant, a lounge and a bar. There's also a leafy outdoor terrace overlooking Park Lane.
The over arching theme is Italian with a British touch. Chef Adriano Cavagnini (from the Hotel Eden in Rome) and Davide Degiovanni (Locanda Locatelli) have put together an Italian-inspired menu with a British twist: from seared Wagyu beef with olive ravioli to fresh Cornish crab tagliolini with lemon zest. English afternoon teas (smoked salmon and cucumber sandwiches, scones) will also be on offer.
It seems the route to la dolce vita now runs via Mayfair.
