Edible Tales
A tour around San Francisco's Ferry Building and marketplace
The historic landmark is now a hub for the community with a European-style food hall and outdoors farmers' market in the Ferry Plaza
Edible Tales is billed as a 'transitory creative culinary project' and was founded by two friends and dedicated foodies Rachel Khoo and Frankie Unsworth early last year. Since then, the duo have hosted two events - 'Edible Immigration Tales' in Sydney and 'Edible Tapestry Tales' in Melbourne. Held at the Australian Tapestry Workshop, the three-night dining experience was inspired by the history of tapestry, and the cleverly-designed menu included dishes such as Incan ceviche with vegetal threads, clothed scarlet dashi and woven fruit dessert.
This weekend (25-27 February), Edible Tales ventures to Buenos Aires for 3 nights of cocktails, canapés, and a 4-course menu, based on a brief history of writing, papermaking and bookbinding. The event will be held at an undisclosed location, and this time the diners can expect an eccentric cuisine comprising of edible inks and palatable papers.
