Fêted fashion and commercial photographer Albert Watson was recently awarded The Royal Photographic Society's prestigious Centenary Medal at ceremony on 9 September 2010.
Instituted in 1993, the medal is The Society's most prestigious art-based award and carries with it an Honorary Fellowship of The Society. To be eligible candidates must have made a contribution that has had 'a significant influence on the sustained advancement or enhancement of photography or imaging'.
Watson joins prestigious group of previous winners of the Centenary Medal, who include David Bailey and Annie Leibovitz.
